The outline and axis symmetry of every\n8X\u00ae<\/sup> oval diamond is assessed to confirm the oval is a desirable\nellipse shape, without \u2018shoulder bulges\u2019 or an uneven \u2018egg\u2019 shape.  The axis symmetry images shown here are part\nof these measurements. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dark area in the center of some oval\nbrilliants is known as a \u201cBow-tie\u201d. This effect is measured by machine vision\nto ensure all 8X\u00ae<\/sup> ovals have very minimal bow-tie\neffect and balanced contrast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
